Blaze CEO Dan Stoltz was recently inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in Washington, D.C. Stoltz received the honor during the America’s Credit Unions annual Governmental Affairs Conference held in Washington DC on March 3-7, 2024.

“I am truly humbled to be selected to be a part of the Hall of Leaders,” said Stoltz. “To be included in this group of credit union pioneers, influencers, and difference-makers who have shaped and molded this movement is a special honor. There are so many who are in the Hall of Leaders that I look up to and that I called upon for guidance and assistance when I began. To be included in their company was never something I imagined or set out to achieve. This honor says much more about the team of Blaze employees and the Blaze Board that I am part of and who I want to share this honor with. This would not be possible without their commitment and their devotion to the credit union industry and to the members that we are privileged to serve.”

Stoltz has been in the credit union industry for over 25 years. He was named CEO of Blaze Credit Union following the “merger of equals” between SPIRE Credit Union and Hiway Credit Union earlier this year after serving as CEO of SPIRE beginning in 2010.

During his career, Stoltz has garnered numerous honors including earlier this year being named to the Twin Cities Business Magazine’s Top 100 Business Leaders. In 2023, Stoltz was selected to the Notable Leaders in Banking and Finance by Twin Cities Business.  In 2022, Stoltz was named the Head Coach for Twin Cities Dunkers - a group of Twin Cities leaders that recognize the accomplishments of athletes in and out of their sport. He also won the 2021 Cooperative Builder Award from the Cooperative Network. In addition, Stoltz was honored with the respected 2016 Spurgeon Leadership Award and 2018 Community Builder Award from Northern Star Scouting for being a role model and his commitment to giving back to our communities. DECA awarded their highest honor to Stoltz as he was named 2017 Executive of the Year for leadership development in area high schools. In 2015, he was named Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Minnesota Credit Union Network.

Outside of his Blaze CEO role, Stoltz is active in several community boards and initiatives including Alloya Corporate (Chicago) Board, Eagle Brook Church Board, Friends of the St. Paul Library Board, Ordway Board, Regions Hospital Foundation Board, Twin Cities PBS (TPT) Board.  Stoltz also serves as the Chair of the Regions Hospital Corporate Council and speaks frequently on the topics of Leadership, Positivity, Work Culture, Branding, and Giving Back.
