As a member, you may be contacted by Blaze about potential fraud on your account or on your debit or credit card. If you ever receive a call that feels suspicious, hang up and call us directly at 651.215.3500. You can call us anytime to verify if we contacted you.

Blaze Will Not Contact You Unexpectedly

Blaze will never call, text, or email you unexpectedly asking for sensitive information such as your Social Security Number, account/card numbers, password, PIN, or verification codes.

Do not share this information with anyone.

Report Suspicious Activity

Know the Difference Between a Disputed & Fraudulent Transaction

Understanding the difference between a disputed and fraudulent transaction is essential for protecting your account and ensuring the issue is resolved accurately.

Dispute

You authorized the transaction but there is an issue with the goods/services or how the transaction was posted.

Examples:
Merchandise not received
Service canceled but wasn't refunded
Incorrect amount charged

Fraud

You did not authorize, participate in, or benefit from the transaction.

Examples:
Unauthorized charges
Stolen card used

If you suspect fraud on your Blaze debit or credit card, call our partner Velera at 866.820.6831 for assistance.

If you suspect fraud involving automatic payments or withdrawals from your Blaze accounts (not card-related), call Blaze at 651.215.3500 or visit your nearest branch.

Did you receive a text, email, or call from someone impersonating Blaze who tried to get sensitive information from you?

Do not select any of the links in the text or email.

Forward the email or take a screenshot of the text and send to abuse@blazecu.com.

Blaze monitors your accounts 24/7 for suspicious activity. We may send you fraud alerts if we spot anything unusual.

Log In With Blaze

To log into Blaze Digital Banking, always log in at blazecu.com or the Blaze CU Mobile app to ensure you are using a trusted and secure portal.

Only download apps from the Apple App or Google Play stores. Apps from other app stores are often spoof apps designed to steal your identity.

Account & Card Alerts

Activate notifications for your Blaze accounts including alerts for minimum balances, large transactions, and deposits.

Alerts can be sent as a text, email, or push notification to your device.

To customize your alerts, log into Blaze Digital Banking and select Alerts under the Messages & eDocuments menu, and Manage Cards under the Account Services menu.

You're protected if your Visa Credit or Debit card is lost, stolen or fraudulently used, online or offline.

Know How To Protect Yourself from Fraud

Follow these steps to help keep yourself from being a victim of fraud.

Protect Your Identity

Never share account information. This includes your digital banking login, account numbers, social security number and PINs.

Do not provide personal information over the phone unless you initiate contact and verify that it is a trusted source.

Secure Your Mail & Shred Documents

Place outgoing mail in a post office collection box. If you plan on being away from home for more than a couple days, have the US Post Office hold your mail.

Safely dispose of sensitive information. Shred any papers that have personal or financial information.

Watch for Shred Day events where Blaze provides free shredding services for members.

Stay Aware of Scams

Freeze Your Credit

A credit freeze limits access to your credit report so no one can open new accounts until the freeze is lifted.

To be fully protected, you must place a freeze with each of the three credit reporting agencies. A credit freeze is free and can be temporarily lifted when you need it.
