SPIRE President/CEO Dan Stoltz has been named Chair of the Regions Hospital Corporate Council. The Regions Hospital Corporate Council is a new initiative that is comprised of top local executives who believe in Regions Hospital's mission and health equity for all; share a commitment to advancing excellence in care, research, education, and clinical priorities; and hope to improve the health and well-being of those in the community.
SPIRE Credit Union is proud to be a founding member of the Corporate Council.
"Knowing the importance of Regions Hospital and the vital role it plays in our community made the decision to be a part of the Corporate Council an easy one for us," said Stoltz, who also serves on the Regions Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. "Giving back is core to how we do business at SPIRE. We are excited to join other companies who share a philosophy of giving on this Council."
"The Corporate Council is a critical new engagement opportunity for the Regions Hospital Foundation to partner with area companies, and we are honored that Dan Stoltz agreed to serve as our inaugural chair," said Tony Grundhauser, Vice President of Regions Hospital Foundation. "Dan is a highly respected community leader who is also a dedicated advocate for our vision at Regions for health as it could be, affordability as it must be, through relationships built on trust and service for all."
In 2022, SPIRE pledged to donate $200,000 over an eight-year period to the Regions Hospital Foundation. SPIRE also purchases monthly meals for health care workers and staff at the hospital and has helped supply the paramedic lounge with grab-and-go snacks and other items. The credit union also just wrapped up a month-long shoe and clothing drive in support of patients in the hospital's emergency department, with support from SPIRE member and partner Gable Steveson, a local gold-medal Olympic wrestler.
Stoltz became CEO of SPIRE in 2010. His personal philosophy is "life is about giving, not getting," and he demonstrates that by giving freely of his time, talent, and treasure. Beyond his service to Regions Hospital, Stoltz also currently sits on the Boards of Alloya Corporate, Eagle Brook Church, Friends of the St. Paul Library, Ordway Performing Arts Center, St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, Twin Cities PBS (TPT), and University of Minnesota Bell Museum Community Compass.
