Marquis Software Solutions is a marketing and compliance software and services provider that provides services to many financial institutions, including Blaze Credit Union. Marquis recently notified customers, including Blaze Credit Union, that it experienced a data security incident in which an unauthorized third party potentially viewed or copied certain files on the Marquis network that contained member information.
Marquis provided us with a list of our members whose information was involved in the incident, and we have coordinated with Marquis to notify those members. If you received a letter from Marquis regarding the incident, it means your information may have been viewed or copied. At this time, we have no evidence of the misuse, or attempted misuse, of personal information as a result of this incident.
We worked with Marquis to arrange complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services for those members whose information was involved in the incident. You can take advantage of this service by following the instructions in the notification letter you received. We also recommend that you review the tips provided in your letter regarding additional steps you can take to protect against the misuse of your information.
While this incident did not involve the credit union’s computer systems, we take seriously the security of our members’ information, and we are evaluating Marquis’ response to this incident and our going forward relationship with it.
