SPIRE Credit Union is proud to announce a new partnership with Minnesota native, US speed skater, and longtime SPIRE member Greta Myers.
Originally from Lino Lakes, Minnesota, Myers discovered ice skating at the age of two and joined her first hockey team a few years later. At age 13, she was exposed to speedskating and immediately discovered that her strengths aligned with the sport’s demands. After juggling both hockey and speedskating for two years, she committed to speedskating and quickly rose to become the top Junior Female in the United States, and one of the top-ranked Junior skaters in the world.
In 2022, Myers qualified for the US Senior World Cup Team and traveled to Norway, the Netherlands, Calgary, and Poland to compete. That same year, she won four medals at the Junior World Championships in Germany, including a silver medal in the Women’s All-Around distances. This recognition earned her the title of becoming the first American woman in 20 years to earn a podium finish in the women’s All-Around. On top of this, she joined the US Speedskating team and will skate at the Olympic Training Facility in Utah.
“I am excited to represent SPIRE because as a longtime member, I know how SPIRE treats people,” said Myers. “Aligning with a company that truly cares about helping others achieve their goals and dreams is a natural fit for me.”
With this new partnership, Myers will be featured in advertisements beginning this fall.
“We are thrilled to partner with Greta,” said SPIRE President/CEO Dan Stoltz, “She is a talented young leader who exemplifies the values that align with SPIRE.”
When Myers isn’t on the rink, she enjoys being outdoors, volunteering, coaching, and spending time with her family and friends. Next up for Myers, she will continue her education and training in Salt Lake City. Her goal is to qualify again for the Senior World Cup Team and ultimately represent her country and community at the 2026 Olympics.
