Blaze is excited to announce that five Blaze members - Baba Tamba (St. Paul, MN), Brea Hansen (Raleigh, NC), Lisa Johnson (Lino Lakes, MN), Julianna Dumoncreauz (Dayton, MN), and Antonia Alm (Ramsey, MN) - have all been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Council (FSC).

“Blaze is extremely proud of Baba, Brea, Lisa, Julianna and Antonia and their commitment to continue their education,” said Blaze CEO/President Dan Stoltz. "Scholarships are not given to just anyone, they are earned. They are stepping stones to the future, where dedication, hard work, and dreams come together to make a better world.”

A total of $18,000 was awarded to 18 credit union members in Minnesota for the 2024-25 school year through the FSC scholarship program.

Nearly 1,000 students from credit unions throughout the state applied for FCS scholarships. Applicants were selected based on their essays submitted to the FSC. This year’s essay question was: “What is the greatest gift you have ever received (object or life experience)? How did it impact you when you received it, and does it still hold meaning now? Would life be different if the ’gift‘ was never received?”

Scholarships were awarded to students in two categories: Traditional and Non-Traditional.  Blaze has been a long-time supporter of the FSC Scholarship program.

Blaze Credit Union is committed to supporting those who wish to continue their education. In addition to the FSC Scholarships, Blaze members have the annual opportunity to apply for a Blaze Foundation Scholarship, which will award up to $100,000 this year.  The application period for the 2025 Blaze Scholarships recently closed, and Blaze will announce the names of those earning scholarships from the Blaze Foundation later this spring.
