Hiway Credit Union’s President/CEO Dave Boden was recently named one of the 2023 Most Admired CEOs by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
“Being named to a list like this is humbling, and I want to share the recognition,” said Boden. “This honor wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the people – our associates and our members - that I’m privileged to work alongside every day. I am honored to be included in the Business Journal’s list, and this award says so much about the broader accomplishments of the entire Hiway team and our impact on the communities we serve.”
Boden has been with Hiway for over 20 years, serving as the credit union’s President/CEO since 2013. He is one of 10 CEOs honored by the Business Journal. This year’s honorees represent a wide array of sectors, including nonprofits, construction companies, manufacturers and more.
Under Boden, Hiway has experienced significant growth in both assets and members. During his tenure, Boden has overseen many key projects, including the launch of the Hiway Foundation, branch network expansion, rebranding and several critical technology initiatives. He’s also played a leading role in developing and supporting Hiway’s award-winning diversity, equity and inclusion-focused MILE Committee; HYPE (Hiway’s Young Professionals); and Hiway GPS (Hiway’s service standards).
Outside of Hiway, Boden is committed to volunteerism and improving both the credit union industry and Hiway’s home communities. He has been actively involved in the Minnesota Credit Union Network since joining Hiway and was recently named Chair of the MnCUN Board of Directors. Boden also serves on the boards of Spare Key and Servion.
Boden has long been a champion of community-based programming and has led Hiway’s efforts in support of Gillette Children’s through employee giving and Hiway’s creation of the award-winning Hockey Kids4Kids program. Boden is also active in several military and veterans’ causes and serves as chair of St. Paul’s Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Steering Committee.
All of the recipients will be featured in a special Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal publication in September and honored at an awards ceremony Wednesday, September 20 at Quincy Hall in Minneapolis.
