Everything We do at Blaze is in Service to Our Members and the Communities They Live.

Whether we are supporting a non-profit partner through a monetary donation, providing financial education through our staff's expertise, or supporting a cause through volunteerism, we are always striving to strengthen our community.

The Blaze Impact on the Community

To live out our Core Action to Give Back, we not only provide financial services in our branch communities, but also support nonprofit organizations, and our employees actively volunteer.

Each Employee has a Hand in Supporting Local Organizations

Each week, a different Blaze team or branch designates a Minnesota nonprofit to receive a $1,000 donation from Blaze through the Blaze Cares and Shares program. Over the course of the year, that results in a total of $52,000 being donated to 52 different nonprofits.

The Cares and Shares program ensures that every employee, regardless of their position or their tenure with the organization, has a voice in our giving programs.

Sustaining Cancer Research, Patient Support, & Awareness

Knowing cancer impacts us all, Blaze assists several cancer-focused nonprofits through event sponsorships, awareness campaigns, support for the Tackle Cancer initiative at Minnesota high schools, and partnerships with the American Cancer Society and Regions Hospital Foundation during Blaze Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Blaze Staff Enjoy Paid Volunteer Time

Every Blaze employee is encouraged to give back to their communities through volunteerism. To support their efforts, Blaze provides all employees with eight hours of paid time off to volunteer.

In 2025, Blaze staff volunteered 695 hours.

2025 impact report overview

Blaze Community Impact Report

Blaze Credit Union CEO/President Dan Stoltz often says that, “life is about giving, not getting.”

This philosophy guides Blaze’s Core Action to Give Back, going beyond the financial services we offer and into our community.

We are proud to present this overview of our Give Back efforts — a snapshot of the many ways our company, staff, and members have shown up for our communities during the past year.

Blaze Impact Spotlight: Bucks for Babe

Since its founding in 2022 to honor Babe, the beloved dog of KS95 Morning Show host (and Blaze member) Crisco, Bucks for Babe has raised more than $300,000 for The Bond Between. Blaze once again matched the first $25,000 in donations received during the 2025 fundraising campaign.

At the end of June, Minnesota was rocked by the tragic murders of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. Their family dog was also killed. Gilbert was a four-year-old golden retriever who was trained as a service dog but later became a family pet. The Hortmans were dedicated volunteers of Helping Paws—an organization that trains and places assistance dogs with people who have disabilities, and veterans and first responders with PTSD. The Bucks for Babe campaign was quickly expanded to include Helping Paws, and Blaze donated an additional $10,000.

In all, the 2025 Bucks for Babe fundraiser raised more than $131,000 for the two animal rescues.

Our Members' Community Impact

Throughout the year, Blaze offers ways to mobilize our members to help support their neighbors. We are consistently inspired by the generosity of our Blazers.

Boosting Our Communities When They Need it Most

Our members show just how much they care with their amazing response to our annual food and toy drives. The food drive in March and the toy drive in December both resulted in overflowing donation bins and a tangible impact on the most vulnerable families in our communities.

Giving Back with Every Blaze Visa® Credit Card Purchase

Minnesota nonprofits can request support for sponsorships for fundraising events, monetary support for program initiatives, and in-kind donations for raffles or live and silent auctions via our donation request portal.

Please allow a minimum of three weeks for your donation request to be reviewed and answered after submitting through the portal. All requests will be answered via email; please ensure emails from “blazecu.com” and “kadince.com” (our donation portal host) are allowed through your spam filters.

Blaze centers our community impact work around six key pillars: Education & Financial Empowerment; Housing; Hunger; Cancer, Health, and Wellness; and Veterans & Military Families.

Blaze is proud to support Minnesota nonprofit organizations through financial and in-kind donations and volunteer support. In 2025, more than 420 nonprofits received support (financial, in-kind, or volunteer) from Blaze.

Organizations requesting support should have a mission that falls within at least one of Blaze’s six giving pillars and should be serving the people of Minnesota.

Blaze is unable to provide monetary donations to individuals or for-profit organizations.

Blaze is also unable to provide monetary donations to school extracurricular activities like sports, clubs, and booster programs; post-prom or post-grad parties; individual youth or amateur athletics teams; and school carnivals or galas. However we would be happy to provide in-kind donations to these events and organizations that can be used in auctions, raffles, or prize giveaways.

Our Visa Treasures program is something we are very proud of! Because of Blaze members, the program has allowed us to distribute nearly $5 million to Minnesota nonprofits since the program began in 2019. Money raised through the Blaze Visa Treasures program - .25% of every Visa transaction – is donated to a variety of Minnesota nonprofits (more than 420 in 2025 alone!) that are making an impact within the six Blaze giving pillars.

Please understand that we receive far more donation requests than we can fulfill, and as much as we would like to be able to say yes to every organization that asks for financial support, it is impossible for us to do so.

Blaze evaluates donation requests based on several factors, including: local impact, number of people served, how well an organization’s mission fit in our giving pillars, and available funds.
